Read MoreWe have all heard the saying 'No foot, No horse'
And it couldn't be more true ‼️
The image is of my own horse who had an abscess in his foot recently 🤕
I don't think Lidl designed their Bags For Life for this purpose but they do come in useful 🤣
Read MoreIn my last post about Muscle Building I mentioned that I was going to follow up with a post on Cross Training.
But what do I mean by Cross Training and why might I recommend it to you❓
Read MoreI promised last week that I would post about some of the detail included in Dr David Marlin’s recent webinar on muscle building 💪🏻
🔸So let’s talk a little bit about muscle and start with a few facts:
Read MoreDuring treatment, once I reach the head, you will see me place my fingers up under your horse’s mandible (jawline) and you may have wondered what I am doing?
Here I am feeling for tightness or fascial adhesions surrounding your horse’s Hyoid apparatus that may be pulling it out of place and also beginning to work on releasing it if needed.
But what is the Hyoid apparatus and how does it affect your horse?
Read MoreWe have been fortunate in the UK to have had some beautiful weather during the last couple of months ☀️
Unfortunately for our horses this means that their sodden paddocks from our very wet winter quickly turned rock hard, lumpy and also slippery 🙁
Read MoreIf like me your horse’s are good doers, you might have some ‘weighty’ worries right now weighing down on your mind.
As a massage therapist I want to share with you the effects of carrying excess weight on your horse’s musculoskeletal system as well as some of the other systems in their body
Late last year I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a seminar presented by Equine Anatomist Sharon May Davis.

During and after treatment with Equine Massage Therapy you may notice some visible changes to your horse’s skin 😯
These are completely normal and nothing to worry about 👍🏻
Today I wanted to discuss some of these changes and what they mean 🧐
This morning I was disappointed to wake up with a sniffly nose 🤧 and a banging headache 🤕
Not ideal for any one, being ill is just so inconvenient, and a headache can be anything from niggly and annoying right up to down right painful and debilitating 😭
This got me thinking about our horses, did you know they get headaches too ⁉️
I was recently asked if Equine Massage Therapy can compliment Physiotherapy sessions❓
The simple answer is of course YES‼️
However I thought it would be useful to explain a little bit more.......

In my mind this is a very important part of the treatment particularly with horses that are tight through the hamstring group of muscles, which includes the Semitendinous muscles.
It is the Semitendinous muscles that control the movement of the tail
