Horses Inside Out Conference 2020 - Anatomy In Action Part 1
Hello and welcome to the first part in my blog series on the Horses Inside Out Conference 2020 - Anatomy In Action.
I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to attend the conference last weekend and the only words I can think of to describe the entire experience are amazing, inspiring and fabulous!
The conference was held at Holywell Conference Centre near Leicester. It was easy to find with plenty of parking. The venue was well sign posted with a huge Horses Inside Out banner above the door.
Once inside I was welcomed by the team and given my pack. Every delegate is issued with a pack including a lanyard with their name and profession on, (the conference is also open to horse owners and riders that are not in the equine industry professionally), a bound booklet with the weekend’s schedule and notes about the speakers and future Horses Inside Out events, as well as some further information and flyers.
There are plenty of blank pages in the bound booklet, perfect for making notes during each seminar.
The hospitality was laid out with a huge choice of teas, coffees, biscuits and pastries and delegates were able to mingle as well as browse all of the trade stands that had attended.
There was also a spectacular anatomy exhibition to explore created by founder Gillian Higgins (more on that in a future blog) as well as the opportunity to purchase Horses Inside Out merchandise such as books, DVDs and art created by Gillian.
As well as a range of scientific posters on the theme of ‘Anatomy in action’ to explore, along with their authors who could answer any of your questions.
The weekend consisted of various talks/lectures broken up with plenty of breaks for teas, coffees and of course toilet breaks, as well as chances to browse the trade stands further and where possible chat to some of the speakers one to one.
The hospitality was second to none with a lovely choice of food for lunch (which is all included in the conference ticket price) which catered for all dietary needs.
Over the next few blogs I plan to discuss the speakers from this years conference and some of the key topics discussed during the weekend. I will also write a piece on Gillian’s inspiring anatomy exhibition, a piece on the trade stands and the scientific posters that were on display during the conference.
I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the experience I had this weekend at the Horses Inside Out conference and urge anyone in the Equestrian Industry whatever field you are in to add this to your CPD next year!!
And for horse owners and riders that are not in the equine industry professionally the conference is an amazing way to find out more about the latest up to date research, so well worth a visit!
Keep any eye out for the following blogs in this series over the coming weeks to find out more!
